LFL: Lingerie Football League

LFL or Lingerie Football League is the official name for a women’s American football league. The Lingerie Bowl was first broadcasted on February 1, 2004,  and was on air at the same time as the Super Bowl XXXVIII half time show.

The Lingerie Bowl pay-per-view show was instanteously a huge success, featuring two teams of models dressed in sexy lingerie while playing an American football game. The names of these original two teams were “Team Dream” and “Team Euphoria”. That game was won by “Team Dream” with the score of 6-0.

In 2005, 2 more teams joined the league – “Dallas Desire” and “Chicago Bliss”. The “Team Dream” changed its name to “Los Angeles Temptation”. The “Team Euphoria” changed its name to “New York Euphoria”.

By 2008, the Lingerie Football League included ten teams: “Atlanta Steam”, “Chicago Bliss”, “Dallas Desire”, “Los Angeles Temptation”, “Miami Caliente”, “New England Euphoria”, “Phoenix Scorch”, “San Diego Seduction”, “Seattle Mist”, and “Tampa Breeze”.

The 2009 Lingerie Football League games are scheduled to air on cable television on Spetember 4 in Chicago, Illinois.

The teams uniform will be designed by FOXERS, a new lingerie brand (founded in late 2006) known for one of its unique styles – a girl’s boxer brief, the company’s answer to boxer shorts for women. They are equally suited for laying around the house on Sunday or wearing out with your favorite low rise jeans on Friday night. Let them show just a touch.

This coming spring, a new old trend dominating the season is a theme inspired by nature. How is this trend going to be different and unique from what we’ve seen before? First of all, unlike what we used to percive by natural, i.e. soft, quiet combination of pastel colors, this season, it’s about mixing different degrees of softness and intensity. Alongside the regular pastel palette, we see deep plum and inky black shades that serve as a framwork for lighter and softer pastel shades. Natural shades of peach and clay redefine classic country floral and plaid motifs, while traditional Japanese motives are brought into a new perspective with the use of neon colors.

You might consider updating your wadrobe on these gorgeous items from La Rok Spring 2009 Collection: St. Tropez top and Free Fringed Suede Vest. And I don’t see why not refresh your white jeans from the previous summer with the fresh splash of style and color.

A little bit pricey, but totally worth it, is Ikebana Sheath Dress from Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 Collection.

Diane von Furstenberg has prepared a beautiful gift for us this holiday season – her latest designs for H.Stern, a Sutra Watch Collection of jeweled timepieces as well as a collection of new talismans.

Created for the modern woman on the go, stylish pieces from this collection resemble rocks of ice. The collection launches this December at H.Stern and Diane von Furstenberg’s own stores. The collection prices range from $1,500 to nearly $10,000. and include nine different watches in three styles:

Sutra Pendant Watch group, in which each watch resembles a talisman and dangles from a long gold chain adorned with a Tibetan love knot;

sutra-pendant-watch1

Sutra Diamond Watch group, an ultra-glamorous group, featuring rock-shaped watch faces and a total of 101 diamonds each;

Sutra Sport Watch group, the more casual group, crafted for the effortlessly stylish, adventurous woman, and featuring a larger stainless steel case or a PVD-coated case and triple-loop ostrich watch straps.
Each piece is armed with Swiss-quartz movement and featuring a signature watch case of clear sapphire crystal inspired by the Power ring von Furstenberg designed for H.Stern several years ago.

It all started in 2003, when a world-known fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg first approached Ronaldo Stern, president and creative director of Brazilian jeweler H. Stern, hoping to collaborate on jewelry. Two years later, the Diane von Furstenberg by H. Stern collection was born, and today, the line is a worldwide success, having gained acclaim for its bold, glamorous shapes and modern styles.

Now, the duo is at it again: The “Sutra Watch Collection,” a line of jeweled timepieces inspired by von Furstenberg, made its official debut at BaselWorld, held from April 3-10 in Basel, Switzerland.

As Ronaldo Stern noted, “It’s not a jeweled timepiece as much as it is a piece of jewelry that tells time.”

A new innovation from a Brazilian lingerie brand Lindelucy and designer Lucia Iorio is a lingerie that comes with a GPS tracking system. The lingerie line called ‘find me if you can’ features a set consisting of a lacy bodice and a bikini bottom with a GPS device embedded near the waist.

The tacky lingerie, with its clunky GPS system, comes with a hefty price tag. The set costs between $800 to $1000.

The designs aimed at “modern, techno-savvy women” are drawing strong protests from feminists. It’s not a modern chastity belt, says the designer, but instead could become a lifesaver, as a safety device on a night out. Are we really buying this argument? There are better ways to stay safe. Get a pepper spray or maybe a Taser gun?

What results are we expecting when we look for that perfect mascara? Extreme length, volume and separation. The most recent innovation – battery powered mascaras – claim to offer a solution for all three. These new mascaras are flying of the shelves.

Estee Lauder Turbolash All Effects Motion Mascara ($30.00) – an auto-powered, vibrating brush gives you: volume, length, curls and separation.

Now, you can have everything you ever dreamed of for your lashes-all from one mascara. According to Estee Lauder’s website, It’s the world’s first “turbo-charged” motion mascara with a vibrating brush. An innovation of design and engineering. The brush is auto-powered, patent pending*, and precision-engineered to achieve lash effects you never thought possible.

All you need to do is to turn on the power and the brush does the rest. Feel the buzz, as the gently vibrating LashSonic Brush™ with micro-pulse bristles works its magic, moving rapidly through lashes. It continuously separates and saturates lashes with a rapid release gel formula. It also finds lashes you didn’t even know you had and coats them instantly and perfectly. Addtionally, it creates the ideal lash effect-maximum volume, length, curl and separation-all at once. And last but not least, the motion brush keeps lashes clump-free. So you can reapply several coats without heavy build-up-even refresh lashes during the day.

Lancome Oscillation PowerMascara ($34.00) – the first vibrating power mascara by Lancome: 7000 oscillations per minute.

Just press the button and experience a breakthrough sensation in application. In one easy new gesture, let the vibrating brush combined with an exquisitely smooth formula wrap every lash up to 360°. Instantly see a fascinating gaze: lashes appear ultimately extended, remarkably separated, and virtually multiplied in number.

SpinLash ($14.99) – Mascara That Revolves Around You™

The mascara, which comes in black or brownish-black, has a rotating brush. It can spin both ways, allowing you to easily apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes. SpinLash claims to “simultaneously separate, organize, shape, coat, lengthen and volumize your lashes.” And, if you like the idea but already have a brand you like, the brush can be used with your favorite brand, though Spinlash’s mascara is safe for contact lens wearers and not tested on animals.

When you look at it, you will forget in an istant awe that this edible arrangement is actually an ice cream. It truely looks like a piece of art, The Grand Opulence Sundae sold by New York’s Serendipity restaurant.

 The ingredients? 5 scoops of the richest Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23K edible gold leaf. The sundae is drizzled with the world’s most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porceleana, and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela’s coast.

The masterpiece is suffused with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold dragets, truffles and Marzipan Cherries. It is topped with a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It’s sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. The sundae is served in a Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold spoon to partake in the indulgenceserved with a petite mother of pearl spoon and topped with a gilded sugar flower by Ron Ben-Israel.
